Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 14, 2026

1. Introduction & Overview

ASO Meter (“we”, “our”, or “the Service”) provides automated App Store Optimization (ASO) auditing tools for mobile application developers and marketers. This Privacy Policy explains what personal and technical data we collect when you use our website and services, how that data is processed, and your rights regarding your information.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you register an account, we collect your name, email address, and a cryptographically hashed password. Passwords are never stored in plain text.

Audit Input Data: When you initiate an audit, you provide a public Google Play Store or Apple App Store URL.

Public Store Listing Data (Fetched on Your Behalf): To generate audit reports, our system retrieves publicly accessible data directly from Google Play or Apple App Store storefronts, including:

  • App title, subtitle, short description, and full description text
  • App icons, feature graphics, and screenshot asset URLs
  • Public ratings, star distribution, and recent user reviews
  • Category ranking, in-app purchase metadata, and release notes
  • Public search ranking positions for relevant keywords

Onboarding & Preferences: Optional answers you provide during onboarding (such as your role or app volume) and your in-app settings (such as AI model preferences).

Technical & Diagnostic Logs: Minimal operational data including timestamps, HTTP status codes, and error logs necessary to maintain system reliability, manage the queue, and debug failures.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account, authenticate sessions, and track your audit credit balance.
  • To fetch public app store listings and calculate deterministic category and overall health scores.
  • To generate AI-powered narrative suggestions, keyword recommendations, and visual screenshot feedback.
  • To maintain your historical audit log and compute score progression over time.
  • To provide customer support and respond to inquiries or billing questions.
  • To prevent fraudulent use, abuse of free allowances, and unauthorized automated scraping.

4. Third-Party AI Processing

For audits that include AI-generated analysis, we transmit the public app store listing text and public screenshot URLs to our configured artificial intelligence providers:

  • OpenAI (api.openai.com)
  • Alibaba Cloud / Qwen via DashScope (dashscope-intl.aliyuncs.com)

What is shared: Only the public store listing text, metadata, and screenshot image URLs required to generate copy recommendations and visual reviews.

What is never shared: We never transmit your account credentials, email address, payment details, or any private user data to AI providers. Under standard commercial API agreements, AI providers process request payloads for inference and do not use customer API inputs to train foundation models.

5. Cookies & Authentication

We use secure, httpOnly cookies solely to maintain your authenticated login session. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, cross-site trackers, or data-broker pixels.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your account profile and historical audit reports for as long as your account remains active so you can track score trends over time. If you request account deletion, all personal information, session records, and associated audits will be permanently removed from our active databases within 30 days.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical safeguards, including HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit, strict password hashing algorithms, restricted database access controls, and secure environment variable isolation for all API credentials.

8. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you have the right to access, receive a copy of, correct, or delete your personal data under regulations such as the GDPR or CCPA. You may exercise any of these rights or request complete account erasure by contacting us directly.
